Exploring Santa Barbara On Two Wheels

0

If you love motorcycles, California is no doubt the best place to have one. The sunshine, beautiful scenery, and gorgeous roads make it hard not to want to ride every day. In Santa Barbara, there are a lot of college students that have a motorcycle but are missing out on the wonderful places they can visit. I’ll share with you some alluring spots in Santa Barbara County that are perfect for enjoying your time on a motorbike.

  1. Santa Ynez Mountains

The Santa Ynez Mountains are an ideal place to ride. Although the roads leading up to the mountains may not be that smooth, this is one of my favorite spots because of the magnificent views on both sides of the mountain range. On one side you get the green, grassy hills and on the other, you get Santa Barbara with the ocean. I usually head up past the Old Mission of Santa Barbara through Mission street and Gibraltar Road. However, there are a few different roads you can take to reach the top of the mountains. The great thing about this location is that there are tons of places that you can stop to either enjoy the scenery, have a picnic, or indulge yourself in a hike.

  1. Lizard’s Mouth

Lizard’s Mouth is a famous destination in Santa Barbara, not only for motorcycle enthusiasts but also for people who wish to enjoy a gorgeous panoramic view. This tourist attraction is also one of my favorites since you have to take the California State Route 154, which is an excellent road to ride on. The ample curves and the smoothness of the highway make it a flawless route. Also, once you have reached Lizard’s Mouth, there is space for you to park and go on a short, 10-minute hike that leads you to the stunning, rocky vista. Lizard’s Mouth is a must do in the motorcycle riding playbook.

  1. Goleta Park Beach

Goleta Park Beach is a fascinating site to visit if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands but still want to enjoy a quick, fun ride. Heading north on Highway 101, taking the CA-217 exit and going past the airport will lead you straight to this lovely, soothing beach where you can relish a gentle breeze with the smell of the ocean. Goleta Park Beach also has large tables that are free to use in case you want to do some homework, or have a friendly gathering. If you enjoy riding on the freeway and wish to reach a beautiful destination in little time, this beach is the ultimate setting.

If you live in Santa Barbara and have not visited these locations, make sure to set aside some time to do so. Even if you don’t have a motorcycle, you can still have an exciting time exploring these magnificent places in Santa Barbara County with your family, friends, or by yourself. Go outside, get some sun, breath fresh air, and appreciate nature. Just remember to fuel up your vehicle, be safe, and have fun.
