Home Cooking and Local Art
At Del Pueblo Café in Goleta you will find more than great Mexican food. Brilliantly colored artwork is displayed throughout the two dining areas of this unique local eatery. Traditional Mexican themed art is brought to life with a modern funky twist. Every corner of the restaurant showcases sculptures, paintings, and scrap art that is done by local artists. Take your time to look around and you will find everything from art made of bottle caps honoring the Virgin Mary to large hand painted Loteria(a game similar to bingo played by adults and children) cards centered in the restaurant’s dining room.
The food is even better than the atmosphere. Del Pueblo Café is grandma’s home cooking at its best. It doesn’t matter if you’re searching for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – you are sure to find an authentic well portioned meal. The menu is filled with homemade family recipes that range from the vegetarian quesadilla to the steak torta. On Saturday and Sunday morning you can you sit outside on the cafés patio and enjoy the best menudo in town.
If you happen to stumble into Del Pueblo Café on the right evening you may find local poets reciting their work or a small band serenading the crowd. The Arrella Family, who owns and operates Del Pueblo Café and has been in Santa Barbara since 1968 takes every opportunity they can to support the local community.
