Open House at Santa Barbara Dance Center
- Saturday, April 19th, Santa Barbara Dance Center held open for dance enthusiasts in town. By offering 45-minute free dance samples from several instructors with different dance styles, they wanted to share the pleasure of dancing.
West coast swing instructor Jamie Bayard demonstrates the females’ steps together with dancer Nigel Clarke.
Instructor Jamie tells the dancers to relax and enjoy while rehearsing the steps from the west coast swing.
Two dance enthusiasts continued rehearsing after the class ended. AT this time, they knew the steps well and they could dance along with the music.
The turnout was great when dance class LaBlast Dance Fitness started at the Santa Barbara Dance Center. Instructor Nigel Clarke (in yellow) made sure everybody were able to follow the steps to dance and get a great workout.
The dance class combines dance styles such as cha cha cha, disco, jive, paso doble, salsa, and samba to popular and funky music. Nigel has in 7 weeks lost 25 pounds by training LaBlast.
During the disco part, the dancers learned the famous “shampoo”-move.
The class LaBlast is offered 5 days per week for only $15 per class. No dance experience is required.
Another dance class sampled this day was World Dance with instructor Janet Reineck. A class offered for women, all ages, and no dance experience is required.
It is only $10 per class, but 100% of class proceeds and donations helps undeserved communities locally and globally.
